New trails at Lytham Hall

This year we’ve had hundreds of families stroll our parkland, clutching the storydoor trail, which led them to places they had not ventured before, and discover fairytale stories from long ago. These doors have now been taken down. In their stead, our volunteers have created the most fabulous Christmas doors. There are 12 of them hidden in the grounds, and together they spell out a word.

Sue Lowe, Volunteer co-ordinator at Lytham Hall, said: “We like having a different trail up this season, and the doors are true master pieces, created by ladies from a local art group. There are so many different ways to support Lytham Hall as a volunteer.”

We invite you to buy a trail in our tea room or estate office for £1, wrap up warm and go out to explore the parkland all through December.

If orienteering is more your kind of thing, you could also choose to pick up an orienteering leaflet, created by South Ribble Orienteering Club. This provides a fun challenge for families with older children, to see who can best find their way and find the matching photographs with the spots in the parkland. The colour trails are available from tea room and estate office for £1.50 each. Ray Pickett from SROC said: “The orienteering leaflet will provide all age groups with a navigational challenge involving a healthy mix of physical activity and decision making within the safe environment of Lytham Hall.”

Remember, every penny you spend at Lytham Hall goes into maintaining the Hall and parkland for future generations and without your support the doors would soon close.
