COMING JUNE 2026
A Promenade Production in Lytham Hall's Historic Parkland
A Midsummer Night's Dream
The original creative team behind the beloved 1998 promenade production of "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" staged at Lytham Hall is reuniting to create an all-new version of the play, 28 years after the original captivated audiences. We would love for you to get involved!
The creative team is now calling for actors and theatre-makers of all kinds to join this community-led production. In addition to casting roles, they are seeking stage managers, set and prop builders, wardrobe assistants, sound engineers, lighting designers, special effects creatives, and event stewards.
This brand-new production will be co-produced by Lytham Hall itself, harnessing the in-house expertise of its costume designers, creative teams, and volunteer groups. It will also be co-produced by Lytham Hall’s General Manager Peter Anthony and Assistant General Manager Paul Lomax.
Lytham Hall’s managers said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing A Midsummer Night’s Dream back to Lytham Hall with the original creative team. This production is not only a celebration of local talent and creativity, but also a wonderful way to showcase our beautiful parkland and historic venue. We’re excited to invite the community to be part of something truly magical while helping to raise vital funds for the continued preservation of our Grade I listed Hall.”
The new staging brings together original directors Carole Morley and Rosie Withers, alongside returning cast members Peter Taylor (now Co-Producer) and Pauline Hardie (now Musical Director) and Sarah Cosgrove (now Choreographer & Children’s Co-ordinator).
Creative Directors Carole Morley & Rosie Withers added, “Bringing A Midsummer Night’s Dream back to life at Lytham Hall, almost three decades after our first promenade production, is a dream come true. That original show holds such special memories for so many people, and to now revisit it with a new creative vision—while walking the same beautiful parkland paths—is incredibly moving. We can’t wait to welcome audiences old and new into this magical world once again.”
An 'Information and Welcome Evening' will be held on Monday, 20th October 2025 at 7.30pm at Lytham Hall for anyone interested in being involved.
