Secret doors to be found

At Lytham Hall we have offered family visitors a secret door trail through the parkland for a few years, and this year is no exception. From the beginning of April, a brand-new trail will be available, completely Alice in Wonderland themed. Discover the Cheshire cat (not on a branch, but at ground level), the Mad Hatter and the sleeping dormouse as they are hidden along the paths.

For £2 per trail, which can be picked up in the tea room or in the estate office, you can spend an hour or more wandering through the parkland. And it will be no small relief to know, that the trail also ends in the tea room, where there will be plenty to tempt you to “eat me”. Which, we have to warn you, may make you grow bigger, as Alice found out.

The doors have been lovingly created by a team of arty volunteers, led by volunteer Linda Salter, who came up with the theme. Last year was the first time this group got involved, and they created fantastic doors which were for sale in Lytham Hall’s tea room. They are now offering to make bespoke fairy doors for your family.

Linda said “The group have been working for weeks to create these fantastic little doors and my fellow volunteers have done amazing work. As volunteers we all find little ways in which we can support Lytham Hall and we will be delighted this springtime to see families enjoying the parkland as they follow the trail.”

The trail will be up for several months, which means you don’t have to do the whole trail in one go, if little legs are getting tired along the way. You can search for the fifteen doors in stages.
