The North’s number one outdoor cinema comes to Lytham Hall

Have a root in your dressing up box and dig out your feather boas, hair gel, fishnets, top hats and tails, leather jackets and pastel pinks. Pack your dancing shoes and singing voices for two nights of cinema parties under the stars.

Picnic Cinema heads to Lytham Hall with cinema parties full of music and dance with screening of cult classic Grease (PG), Tues 4th August and Baz Luhrmann’s frenetic and vibrant Moulin Rouge (12A), Wed 5th August.

Picnic Cinema is not just about great films, but also groovy music on the sound-system, fun and games before the film and camping in the grounds of some of the North’s most beautiful locations, Lytham Hall, an 18th Century Georgian country house being a fine example.

Heather Walker, Head of Projects at Eden Arts said “We are really excited about bringing Picnic Cinema to Lytham Hall this year and being part of Lytham Festival. We have two fantastic cult musical films lined up, in a beautiful location plus the added bonus of being able to camp in the grounds afterwards, creating a boutique festival atmosphere. We are encouraging everyone to dress up to the theme of the film and bring along their picnic, camping chair and their tent and enjoy what are really special events.”

The Picnic Cinema events are part of Lytham Festival which runs from 2nd – 9th August.

All profits from Picnic Cinema go to a good cause, supporting arts charity Eden Art’s rural touring cinema programme, Remote, which brings cinema equipment free to rural villages in Eden, Cumbria.
