Lytham Proms Orchestra matinee performance: Sunday 28 September

Sunday 28 September promises a very special occasion at Lytham Hall as the Lytham Proms Orchestra will perform a musical matinee to fundraise for the Hall. Enjoy a tour of the Hall, a glass of sparkling wine in the dining room and sit down in the glorious Gold Room to listen to Lytham Proms Orchestra perform favourites from the golden days of the Palm Court and the Pier Orchestras.

Martin Gunson from Lytham Proms Orchestra said: “It is a great pleasure to be performing again in the beautiful surroundings of Lytham Hall, where we have been presenting occasional fund raising concerts since 1997”. Lytham Proms Orchestra has been playing for good causes since 1988, and has already performed more than one hundred and eighty times raising considerable monies for local and national charities.

This fantastic opportunity rounds off a month of festivities at Lytham Hall to celebrate the 250th birthday of the Hall, which was built by John Carr between 1752 and 1764 for Thomas Clifton. The Hall will undergo restoration in 2015 and 2016 with funding from partners like Heritage Lottery Fund, Lancashire Environment Fund and Veolia, which means that the principal rooms will be out of action for a while.

Marianne Blaauboer, Activity Plan Officer for Lytham Hall said: “This will be one of the last opportunities this year to be a spectator in Lytham Hall, and what better afternoon entertainment than a performance from Lytham Proms Orchestra?”

Limited spaces are available, to book your tickets, please contact Lytham Hall on 01253 736652 (or contact Lytham Proms Orchestra via info@youth-music.co.uk).
