Inspired by the Clifton family who once lived here, we invite you to wander through Lytham Hall Parkland at your own pace. Take time to enjoy the magic as it changes throughout the year — from the first snowdrops that tell us spring is on its way, to beautiful bluebells, new horticultural projects, and the ever-changing atmosphere
shaped by the seasons.
It's free to enter the grounds except on special event days.

The Historic Parkland
The Estate currently consists of 78 acres of historic parkland. Earlier in the twentieth century it was significantly larger, containing Home Farm, a kitchen garden, an orchid house and swathes of land which have since been sold off for building purposes.
The remaining 78 acres comprise wooded areas, grassland and two lakes. The evocative Lily Pond is a haven for wildlife and still shows the remains of a boathouse, which was used by the Clifton family for entertaining. It has fallen into disrepair during
the early twentieth century.
Curtains Pond is maintained and used by a
private angling club.
The Gardens
The South Prospect and Parterre have been transformed, replacing overgrown trees and the former Diana car park with a restored Italianate Parterre Garden inspired by the original historic design. The Diana statue now sits at the heart of the garden, which has been replanted with climate-resilient, low-maintenance planting suited to modern care by Lytham Hall's dedicated volunteers. With a café terrace overlooking the gardens and new steps leading to the Mount, this area has become a welcoming space for visitors.
The 18th-century Dovecote and Stable Yard are the focus of future restoration. Once home to 850 nesting boxes, the Dovecote has been converted into a peaceful Pet Sanctuary. The Stables, once central to the Clifton family's successful racehorse breeding and training, are planned for restoration as part of the Hall's Phase 3 project.
The Redwood Collection
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that, after passing through a rigorous two-stage application process, we have been awarded National Collection status by Plant Heritage for both our collection of Giant Redwoods (Sequoiadendron giganteum & cultivars) as well as our collection of Coastal Redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens
& cultivars).
Our grounds' volunteers, under the guidance of Volunteer Collections' Curator, John Hornyak, have been planting and nurturing these magnificent trees here at
Lytham Hall since 2015.
"A huge amount of work has gone into creating these collections and I am thrilled that we are now officially recognised as holding the National Collections. These are incredible trees that need our help to survive and, from growth rate data we have recorded so far, they are showing that they love the growing conditions at Lytham Hall," said Heritage Gardens and Parkland Manager,

Tree Sponsorship Scheme
We are pleased to announce our very own Tree Sponsorship Scheme as part of the continuing improvement and tree planting within our 78 acre
Grade 2 listed Historic Parkland and Gardens.
If you are interested in sponsoring a tree or shrub at Lytham Hall, please download the Tree Sponsorship form below, which has all the details/costings you require.
All prices include sourcing, planting and immediate aftercare. Timing will be seasonal or weather dependent, but please do not hesitate to ask for further details.
We will be pleased to discuss bespoke, corporate and major project requests and planting locations - which need to fall within the Lytham Hall Conservation Management Plan guidelines.
Snowdrop Season
Come and enjoy the Snowdrop Trail in February - take a stroll through the parkland and marvel at the vast displays of snowdrops. The Cafe is open to warm you up with a hot drink, a light bite or a hearty meal and you can purchase snowdrops from the Garden Hub near the Courtyard. Parking is available on site (the car parks are pay and display with monies going to the upkeep of the grounds) and there are disabled places available
near the Cafe.
At weekends there will be a Trail Map available for a suggested donation of £1 and this gives you a 10% discount voucher for use in the Hall during weekends in February.
Dog Walkers
Dogs are very welcome to run around our beautiful parkland. Dogs can be off-lead on the front lawns and through the woodland, but we ask owners to be responsible for their dogs and be mindful of them approaching other dogs and people, especially
small children and the elderly.
Dogs MUST be on a lead around the Cafe, Cafe Garden
and Court Yard areas at all times. Waste bins are located around the grounds and in the car parking areas,
please use accordingly.
Dogs are not allowed inside the historic house unless they are Assistance dogs.
Parkrun 5K
The Lytham Hall Parkrun takes place every Saturday at
9am. It's free to enter but please register before your first Parkrun. You only have to register once with Parkrun and show your barcode when you cross the line. We all run or walk for our own enjoyment and welcome new volunteers to our friendly community. Please come along and join in, whatever your pace! After the run, we grab a post-Parkrun coffee in Lytham Hall's Café!
Animal Hub
Welcome to Lytham Hall's Animal Hub. Our four legged friends include our Pheasants, Guinea Pigs and Rabbits, Charles & Camilla. We are also home to Bogie & Toby who are our mischievous goats and we endeavour to keep all our lovely animals in the lifestyle to which they have recently become accustomed.
You can help support the Hub by giving a donation towards food and upkeep of their living quarters. Please pop into our Estate Office if you wish to make a donation.
Hedgehogs
Lytham Hall is a release site for rehabilitated hedgehogs.
British hedgehogs are now officially classed as vulnerable to extinction, and are now included on the International Union for the Conservation of Nature's (IUCN) Red List for British Mammals. Click on the link below to the British Hedgehog Preservation Society to find out how you can help them;

Founded in 1982 the British Hedgehog Preservation Society offers help and advice to those with sick, injured or orphaned hedgehogs and maintains a list of rehabilitators in the UK. BHPS has 7 patrons Chris Beardshaw, John Challis, David Domoney, Ben Fogle, Twiggy Lawson, Lorna Watson and Ann Widdecombe.. Pet Memorial Sanctuary
Our beautiful Sanctuary offers a serene and personal resting place for the ashes of your beloved pet. An individual compartment will be provided for your pet's ashes within our historic Dovecote, where they will rest surrounded by our beautiful parkland and the
serenity of green space.

Dogs Welcome
Dogs are very welcome everywhere, except inside the Hall.
We kindly ask that they are kept on leads around the cafe area at all times.
Accessibility
Externally, the Grounds are accessible to all with lots of pathways around the parkland. Ramps to enter the Hall & Cafe are available. Wheelchair access to the Hall is limited to the ground floor only.
Dining
The Café is located in the West Wing and offers access to a charming lawn area as well as a sheltered Inner Courtyard.
We also welcome guests to enjoy Lilibet’s Afternoon Tea Emporium and Lady Eleanor’s Ice-Cream Parlor.
Parking
We run a Pay & Display parking scheme.
Charges apply to all vehicles in all areas of the parkland. Please pay at the parking terminals located in the Stables & Woodlands
