Easter at Lytham Hall

The Friends of Lytham Hall are preparing for their annual Easter Sunday Family Fun Day on Sunday 27 March and hope to welcome you at Lytham Hall from 11am. Last entry is 3.30pm. In previous years, around 1500 people attended the day, which is a fundraising event for Lytham Hall. There will be an Easter outdoor trail as usual, which you can bunny hop if you are fit enough, cupcake decorating and a bouncy castle. Wear your prettiest Easter bonnets! Bright prospects for summer picnics in the park

Prospects for picnickers at this summer’s outdoor plays at Lytham Hall are looking bright thanks to the hard work of a special squad of volunteers. Following the winter rains the flooded north lawn at Lytham Hall was much in need of some care and attention and this has now been provided by a willing posse of workers organised by Sue Lowe, coordinator of Volunteers at the Hall. Lytham Hall’s Kitchen Garden Project has bagged a share of a £11.5million carrier bag charge fund

Heritage Trust for the North West is delighted to announce we have bagged £10,000 from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative for Lytham Hall. The supermarket teamed up with Groundwork to launch its Bags of Help initiative, which saw grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – being awarded to environmental and greenspace projects. Eight million shoppers voted in stores up and down the country. And it can now be revealed that our Lytham Hall Kitchen Garden Project has been awarded £10,000. The results have been announced and we will now begin work on bringing our project to life. Work on Lytham Hall’s kitchen garden project will start in April and take until November

Snowdrop competition result

Several thousand people have enjoyed the snowdrops at Lytham Hall again this year. Earlier in January, Megan Rowland, as a Lytham Hall volunteer, wrote to schools to invite all under 18s to join in with a snowdrop competition at Lytham Hall. People could choose to send in a photograph, or create art work based on snowdrops. This idea was welcomed by schools all through Lytham St Annes. The entries were of high quality and Megan has been impressed. She said: “When I approached Lytham Hall to do a project, I’d never thought the results would be so good. Local businesses have been very kind in giving out awards to 13 lucky winners and the judges were only too happy to help.” Judging was carrie
